In 1973, Antonio Cambil Jimenez designed and implemented a solar thermal energy facility for the production of hot water at a hotel.
From that time, this team’s interest and specialisation grew, and it carried out many large-scale facilities. As a result of this activity, in 1994 the first solar collector was designed, tested and certified, and in 1996 production of the Kaplan K-1 began. More than 5,000 units of this collector were produced and installed.
Since then, 2 thermosiphon devices and 4 collector models have been developed.

The new tested and certified Solaris CP-1 and Solaris CP-2 models are now on sale. The company is currently testing a thermosiphon device and a remote monitoring system for facilities, and is developing new collectors. Given the market prospects and an increase in sales, in 2005 Sistemas de Calor S.L. decided to separate its solar energy collector production division and invest in promotion and sales, creating Solaris Energía Solar, S.A. in November 2006.
The Solaris CP-1 and CP-2 collectors have been developed to be leaders in terms of value for money in their market segment, which is large-scale active circulation facilities for new buildings, hotels and major producers of hot water in general within the 5 climate zones of the Iberian peninsula.
The mission of SOLARIS, S.A. is to research, develop, design, manufacture and sell products and systems that use solar energy for sanitary hot water (SHW), in domestic settings as well as in hotels and accommodation, hospitals, campsites, sports facilities, etc. The company’s activities are based on:
The design and manufacture of thermal collectors.
The sale of auxiliary devices, systems and accessories for solar energy systems.
Technical assistance for system design and installation.
SOLARIS, S.A. is a completely innovative RDI company with an enormous potential for growth.
The solar collector is the heart and soul of any solar thermal energy facility. For this reason. SOLARIS has become a specialist in this area, dedicating all its efforts to achieving the best collector for the different climates present in Spain. After five years of testing in the harshest meteorological conditions and with different kinds of water, it is estimated that the collector has a minimum working life of 20 years.
SOLARIS has been certified by Bureau Veritas with the ISO 9001:2008 and the company is on the way to receiving the ISO 14001 standard. Its products have been certified by CENER and the Spanish Ministry of Industry, and its tests by ENAC.
